Packing and unpacking can be time consuming and stressful. We have listed some packing tips which include things you need to consider before you start.
An ideal box should be rigid and in good condition without damage, so invest in new packing boxes.
Reinforce the bottom of the box with packing tape. This will ensure that any items in the box don't fall through the bottom in transit.
Fill your packing boxes, placing the heaviest items at the bottom.
Fill the empty space of the box with fabric, like dishtowels or clothing, or use butcher paper or bubble wrap for support. This will ensure that items in the box don't shift during a move.
Never overfill boxes, or pack heavier than 20kg. Not only will they be difficult to lift, but an overly heavy box is more likely to tear or give out at the bottom.
Make sure that all boxes can close and seal properly on top. Never pack a box that cannot close, has bulging sides, or that has items sticking out of the top.
Clearly label your packing boxes.
